Alli’s Keto Diet
This year I have started to experiment with my version of a keto style diet. Personally I have found it much easier than anticipated and have enjoyed increased energy, a calmness and some relief from aches and pains in my knees. If you are interested in trying my keto diet then please contact me about joining my next online group. We will have a Zoom meeting on Wednesday 4th September 2024 at 7.00pm to introduce you to the science behind this way of eating and to get you on the preparation diet. We will then have three further weekly Wednesday meetings, before, during and at the end of the 2 week diet. There will be plenty of support by way of a WhatsApp group, recipes and meal plans to guide you on your way.

I highly recommend Alli’s Keto Programme. For many people including me, the idea of adding fats in to your diet is quite a shift in thinking, which is why it has been so good to have the knowledge and support of Alli in weekly check-ins and the WhatsApp group. She explains why this works, and how we can improve our health and develop better eating habits.
The preparation week was very helpful to hit the ground running in the first proper week. The fasting and no snacking were not a problem as I never felt hungry and I loved the meal plan as it took away the guesswork, plus all the meals were delicious. She encouraged us to ask questions and to share our meal photos and ideas for alternatives.
The other great thing about Alli’s Keto diet is that she is realistic about how well people adapt to a strict new regime, so there are a few little treats involved if needed!

Like me you might be wondering, what will I get from a course that I can’t get for free on the internet… background reading online was certainly helpful but Alli was invaluable in a few key ways :
- the prep week meant that I had a good understanding of what I could and couldn’t eat, the fasting period, it was the chance to try a few new recipes and importantly to stock the cupboards of good stuff and de-stock the bad stuff. I think I’d have failed if I’d gone straight in.
- during the keto time Alli was supplying new recipes and constantly on hand for support, answering any questions (can we eat onions, what about peppers…). We had weekly calls where we would discuss challenges and share any recipes we had found (keto chocolate pudding was a highlight)
- lastly, the group WhatsApp was a game changer, daily we shared experiences, what worked and what didn’t and supported one another. Also for someone who lives on their own Alli and the group became my accountability partners, I didn’t want to let them down !
I would add that I’m in my mid 50s and have increased exercise these last few years but still found it hard to shift fat. With Alli and Keto I’ve lost about half a stone and broken my bad snacking habits. The keto diet supported my exercise, it didn’t impact my energy levels and I even did a 10k run in the middle of it. I’m planning on continuing with keto one week in four, and taking the good habits of avoiding snacks and processed foods into the rest of the weeks. Alli’s keto diet has been fantastic; I’ve learned so much about keto, sugar and carbs. I enjoyed eating keto-style and found it easy to make normal family meals with just slight tweaks. Alli’s recipes for nutty seed bread, granola and using cauliflower rice, courgetti spaghetti, naked noodles all helped. I never felt hungry or craved sweet treats. Over the 2-3 week period I have stopped getting night sweats and have lost about 5 pounds even with the odd day of slippage! Using the Keto BM meter was motivating, and I do feel I am better focused during the day and generally have better quality of sleep.
Being part of the WhatsApp group was great for sharing experiences and recipes as we all got the hang of keto. We all had questions about what food was allowed/not allowed and Alli was always quick to guide us and explain the science behind the nutrition. Having the regular catch-ups also helped keep us on track, get our questions answered and made it fun to interact with the others in the trial. The prep week was an inspired idea, giving us the chance to prepare the foods we needed to make the first week easy.
I intend to continue to generally eat a healthy reduced carb diet now that I have easy substitutes and I’ll monitor by BM readings with the occasional keto-focused week now and then!

Really enjoyed trying Alli’s Keto Diet. Great support from others on our WhatsApp group as well as the weekly Zoom check-ins. Friends have commented on my glowing skin! Never thought I could manage with no cakes and sugary snacks, but it has been fine. Feeling much more energised. I plan to continue on & off.
